We got a rose! two!

granted the blooms were there when we bought the plants, but you know what, its an achievement!

In other good news: we had three contractors over at the VIB, and all of them told us that what we thought may be a serious structural issue — a crack separating trim and floor in the kitchen — is nothing more than poorly adjusted joist chip. So we don’t need to address it all, and if we want to level the floor we can do that when we redo the kitchen. wohoo!

now just waiting on estimates of redoing our plaster ceilings to get rid of the awful swirlys and maybe excavating the dirt from the basement (half of our basement has dirt from when the house was built and they just never bothered to clean it out!)
